Welcome to The Japanese Rose – My name is Nadia (NA-DI-A).
Looking at my blog name, you might be wondering why “The Japanese Rose”? I often wondered if I should change my blog name as it’s not clear on what it’s about but I like it, I feel like it’s me!
I am half Japanese, half English, and my middle name is Rose – which is also known for being an English flower.
So, that’s a little backstory of my name.
I have recently (October 2022) moved and started a new chapter of my life in Japan.
It can feel a bit overwhelming when travelling to a new country, let alone moving to a new country. I want to use this space to give tips, tricks and recommendations when it comes to navigating Japan.
So whether you’re coming for holiday or making the move to Japan, I hope I can help!
Food and Travel

Food and travel are two things that are very important to me, and I like to combine them wherever I can!
Food
I’ve been vegan since January 2019, and since changing to a vegan lifestyle, I have never been more experimental in the kitchen and with what I eat.
Since moving to Japan, it’s been a little tricky to navigate the vegan scene. It’s like I’ve had to start learning from zero again.
Not being fluent in the language, I’ve fully accepted I will make mistakes along the way. However, I’m very excited to explore and share what delicious things are out there for me to explore and find.
Travel
I started travelling in 2015, and I’ve been addicted since!
I’ve been lucky to travel to some amazing destinations and I don’t ever want to stop.
Since moving to Japan in October 2022, my goal is to explore Japan as much as I can, as long as money allows it.
I love looking back at photos of my travels, they bring back so many happy memories.
I hope you come along on this journey with me.
