Woodbridge is a beautiful and vibrant market town on the banks of the River Deben, located in the East Suffolk district of England.
Woodbridge has many shops and cafes, beautiful views of nature, and many country walks around the area that can be done.
Although it’s a small town, there are plenty of places to eat, and you won’t feel like you’re missing out on anything!
Let’s take a look at some of the best vegan options in Woodbridge that offer cakes, snacks, and meals for all your eating needs!
Cafes
01. Plant Cafe
Vegan or Vegan options? – Fully Vegan!
Price – £
EDIT: Unfortunately, Plant Cafe closed its doors on 29th May 2022. This was such sad news to a lot of people, and the cafe will definitely be missed!
Woodbridge has finally got its first fully plant-based cafe, so it would have been silly not to have put it at number one!
‘Plant Cafe’ is a small business run by a friendly team, offering plant-based foods that can be eaten in, or taken away in biodegradable boxes and cups!
They offer breakfasts, and lunches and they even do roasts on Sundays! Plus, it also has a small corner in the cafe selling a selection of vegan foods, tinned items, beauty products and even a vegan pick & mix.
It’s honestly so lovely to have a vegan cafe in Woodbridge. They display their menu up on the board, which changes frequently. It makes things far simpler than wading through an overly complicated menu. Even better, their food is very reasonably priced which is great to see!
02. Honey and Harvey

Price – ££
Honey + Harvey is an independent and upmarket cafe which started out in Woodbridge. Since then, they have expanded and have a branch in Melton and Ipswich.
They are a perfect place to have brunch, with good quality food, drinks and a lovely atmosphere. Woodbridge might not be the most “happening” place in the world, but there’s a fantastic vibe to this place that you’ll feel every time you pop in.
I’ve visited Honey + Harvey’s many times and the quality is absolutely fantastic. They have plenty of items on their menus for those who are vegetarian and vegan.
The best news of all? They’re dog friendly!
So, if you’re in the area and fancy a decent cup of coffee, a slice of cake, and a vegan snack, Honey + Harvey is a great place to go.
03. New Street Market

Price – ££
When I visit Woodbridge, I usually only stay on the thoroughfare and don’t venture further up; So I wouldn’t have discovered the New Street Market Canteen if a friend hadn’t told me.
New Street Market has a mix of locally sourced and handmade clothing and homewares, combined with brands from around the world, and at the back of the shop is a quaint little canteen.
Unlike a lot of the entries on this list, the New Street Market canteen serves foods with a different concept. They combine truly unique ingredients together to create lovely dishes.
They have a few things on their menu that could be suitable for a vegan diet. I was a little surprised when my chosen item came out, (I won’t lie, it literally looked like “rabbit food”), however, it was actually really nice!
With so many restaurants around serving burgers, it’s refreshing to have a place to serve such different food.
04. Deben Cafe Bar – The Boat

Price – £
Deben Cafe Bar (The Boat) is on the river in Melton, (so not technically in Woodbridge), but if you’d like to have a nice river walk from Woodbridge to Melton, then you’ll be guaranteed to walk past the Deben cafe.
The Deben Cafe was originally called “HMS Vale”, a former Swedish Navy fast missile attack craft. With a beautiful view of the Deben river, it’s popular with bird watchers (They provide binoculars!) and dog walkers and has seating outside, on top of the boat.
Their menu has a good variety of vegan options, with plenty to choose from. From snacks such as sausage rolls, and cheese scones, to sausage baps, vegan breakfasts, and vegan quarter pounders, all to be enjoyed with a lovely view.
05. Two Magpie bakery

Price – ££
Two magpie bakery is fairly new to Woodbridge. They have a beautiful display of all their freshly baked bread and other baked goods. Unfortunately for us, out of that beautiful display, there are only a couple of things that are suitable.
My favourite thing to order here is the double chocolate chunk cookie with an oat cappuccino. Chocolate and coffee is such a good combination!
I’ve not eaten a meal in the Two Magpie Bakery yet, but they do have a few things on their menu that can be suitable for a vegan diet. Definitely, something I’m going to try out in the future!
06. Christine’s Patisserie and Tearoom

They do great drinks and smoothies and have a couple of items on the menu that can be altered for a vegan diet!

They even do bottomless brunch here! A great place to wine and dine!
08. A Listers Bar

Price – ££
A Listers would be the ideal place to go before going to see a movie in the cinema, which happens to be next door!
Or even if you don’t go to the cinema, it’s a great place to have good food and delicious cocktails close to the river.
They have a vegan menu, currently with three options for starters, three options for main and two options for dessert.
09. The Red Lion

Price – ££
The Red Lion is a typically British-looking pub with a cosy atmosphere, (they have an open fire in the winter!)
They have a range of things such as chickpea katsu croquettes, plant-based BBQ strips tacos, street food Cambodian curry and a vegan burger.
10. Spice Bar @ The Table

The Spice Bar @ the Table offers a modern twist on some classic authentic Asian food, with great seating inside and out.
With a couple of vegan things on the menu, if you fancy some Asian food, this is the place for you!
11. Prezzo

Price – ££
Everybody knows of Prezzo, It’s an Italian chain restaurant that’s at the top of the thoroughfare in Woodbridge.
Most likely you’ll have been into a Prezzo before, they do vegan pasta and pizza and you know the quality you’ll be receiving!
Is Woodbridge Good For Vegans?
It’s always a gamble as to whether you’ll find any vegan options in a little market town. Thankfully, Woodbridge has more than enough for anyone no matter what you fancy eating. Over the past few years, it’s seen a steady increase in vegan cafes and restaurant offerings alongside the vegan boom. Hopefully, that’s something that continues over the years to come!
