The space
The restaurant has a modern and fashionable aesthetic with a European twist. It features brightly coloured walls, exposed brick and contemporary light fixtures.
The space is much bigger than many places I have visited previously with plenty of different options for seating. As a party of two, booking luckily wasn’t necessary for us when we visited on a weekday. But it could be a great place to come for a special occasion with a few more people. They definitely have the space but I would call to check first.
The menu
Everything on the Wired Bonbon dessert menu is vegan as they use plant-based ingredients, and for mains, they have options such as a fried soy meat plate and a vegan veggie curry.
They also had a separate menu for a vegan sweets tower (¥4,180) which reminded me of a typical English afternoon tea. The selection of cakes looked equally amazing and delicious and you could pair it with coffee, tea or chamomile tea for an extra ¥200.
They use handy little symbols on the menu to indicate different ingredients or allergens. For example on the parfait page, you’ll see a leaf symbol with some writing next to it which says “We only use plant-based ingredients in the parfaits” and we can see that wheat is present in all the parfaits.
Compared to a lot of places they have quite an extensive list of hot and cold drinks you can pair with your meal or dessert.
Let me show you what we ordered ↓
Purple Lemonade Soda
I was definitely suckered into this pretty drink from the menu picture. I’m unsure if the purple bit had any taste but it ended up being a very refreshing lemonade that wasn’t overly sweet with bits (I love bits!) As the sweeter syrup and bits were at the bottom, it’ll need a good mix before drinking, just make sure to take a picture before you do!
Price: ¥715 (£3.92/ $4.82)
Berry & Berry Crepe
This crepe was filled with seriously airy soy whip, a sprinkle of crunchy rice crispies and deliciously tart yet sweet fruit. I need to know how they made the crepe so thin and delicate because it was unreal! And the outer layer was caramelised like Brulee, which made it even better.
Price: ¥1408 (£7.72/ $9.50)
Fresh Peach Tea Parfait
I could not come to Wired Bonbon and not order one of its well-known parfaits. As I chose the seasonal option it’s a little pricier than the others on the menu. But my goodness, I don’t regret it one bit.
There were so many yummy layers filled with jellies, compost, custard, fruit, and soy whip. Each one had a new flavour or texture and it was simply glorious! Also, the fruit from Japan is on another level, the peaches on this parfait were perfectly ripe and so so good!
Price: ¥1738 (£9.53/ $11.73)
